Moonlight Arabians Breeding Program
Our breeding programme is based upon the basic principle that Lady Wentworth followed; that of crossing the silver and gold bloodlines. We do, however have some CMK blood from the famous Aurab line to add to our high percentage horses as well as our 100% Old English stallion who has a rare line to Dwarka.
Our foundation broodmare, Dominita, is a silver daughter of double Ludomino lines and we are excited that this year she will visit double Silver Fire bred stallion, Crystal Red Drift. She has produced two beautiful colts for us by very different stallions so we eagerly await next year’s foal.
Other breedings planned for this year include Beau Rashella to Crystal Red Drift - she is a tall mare with great substance and movement who has previously bred top class part bred endurance horses. He complements her athleticism and adds a touch of refinement so we hope this will be a great match.
Our stallion African Bey King 99.9% Crabbet, with lines back to the famous Crabbet foundation mare Queen of Sheba through Naufal, has two potential wives this year–the big coloured mare Zulu Maiden by three day event stallion Zulu Warrior and the very beautiful and ethereal Rizaari by BNC champion stallion Azaari.
So if all mares get in foal we will have a busy foaling season at Woodlay next year! Having had two colts in recent years it would be lovely to have a filly but happy healthy foals are our primary aim. Watch this space!!
